Remembering my dad

Today marks 23 years since my dad went to be with the Lord. One minute he was with us and the next he was suddenly taken from us in an accident that changed our family forever. My dad had drive and ambition, the kind that brings one to America to start a life. The kind that has his own business and also his art. He made spending time with his four children a priority. The last words he ever said to me were, “I love you.”

I found this precious photo of us that was taken when I was three years-old. How lucky I feel that he hired a photographer to take pictures of us together and that I still have it today to cherish. This photo says it all…I was definitely a Daddy’s girl and I miss him still.

Thank you Donna for your sweet note. This is my favorite photo of him and me. He was an artist as well so I got that from him. He used to take me to museums, long hikes, and he exposed me to travel by taking me to Europe when I was 16. So glad he did that, because he died when I was 19 and those are some of my fondest memories of us traveling together for a month. It’s almost as if he knew he wouldn’t be around for much longer.
