Photo Tip #5 – Timing

Good timing in when to press the shutter is a skill that needs to be practiced over and over again until it becomes second nature.   If you can anticipate the action or reaction, that can definitely help in getting the shot.  I knew the bouquet toss was coming, but didn’t know where the bride would throw it, so I shot wide.  This allowed me cover more area for the catch, and also to get the little girl on the left watching the grown-ups with wide-eyed wonder.
